Hi All,
I want to paint up the dampers where the inevitable rust has happened - can anyone point me in the right direction to get the correct spec & colour paint?
Hi All,

Hi, I’m just painting mine now, I have used Hammerite Yellow Smooth.
I know it’s not an exact match, but it is quite close.
Will have a look at that - its a daily driver so wont be going in for any concourse events so “good enough” will be good enough! can you post a pic of yours when its done?
The forum says this is your first post - welcome
Thanks, I will post some pics soon
Or do what I did with my Teins (green) - pick off a flake of paint, and take to Halfords, to find the nearest match in their range of rattle can vehicle colours.
I found this colour tone info a while back.
Based on this, in theory Halfords should be able to mix you one up.
BILSTEIN yellow
Euroscale (CMYK): 0/10/100/0
Pantone: 109
HKS: 3
RGB: 255/220/0
RAL: 1018
Thats a damn good and detailed answer! Many Thanks for that, never thought I’d be able to get a specific pantone number for it - hopefully halfords can mix from that!
I’d be interested to learn if it is a decent match, as I’ve been planning on doing mine.
Will keep the thread updated as and when I get round to doing it - its going in next week for a full surface rust removal and rust prevention so will look to do it pretty soon after that. Googling the pantone gives a good match though!
I originally set about stripping the front struts off, but then quickly realised that it’s going to require a laser wheel alignment upon refitting, having only just had the four wheel alignment, I decided agaisnt it.
That looks pretty damn good to be fair, I cant tell any difference from that picture!
I think Hammerite will be more resistant to stone chips than normal paint.
I found these on the internet, should look good when done.
I got them from isaydingdong.co.uk
Nice, I was thinking it’s a shame to loose the Bilstein branding.
Very impressed, looks very good!
Hi Folks,
I bought a new set complete with springs for my Mk 1 Eunos !
Its the lazy way but I know that everything is up to as new spec !!!
The other reson for buying new ones is they might not be available for much longer as the cars they fit are all getting a bit old.
And they’ll be good for years to come.
The Hammerite looks really good and is the way forward. I don’t think normal paint will not last very long.
