Before Christmas I lost all my keys, including the one and only fob for
my car, which has central locking, immobiliser and and alarm (Meta
system).
Fast forward to today, I found my spare key! I never use the car, so
have had no need to find the key and was just going to get the locks
replaced when I had the spare cash.
Now, I think the battery is 100% dead, no flashing light on the alarm any more, will this effect the unlocking of the car?
As I need to unlock it with my spare key, silence the alarm (good old
towel) then get to the alarm unit to tell a company the code so they can
reprogram me a new set of fobs.
BUT! The key will go in either door, and nothing, it’s an old car so the
key doesn’t feel very flush, but none the less, no movement at all! I
don’t want to force the key much.
I have tried WD40 in all locks with the spare key I have and still none of the locks turn!
If anyone knows how to get into the cabin without a key, please PM me. I
can provide picture proof (documentation and car) so you know I’m not
being a sumbag.
Thanks!
P.S. It’s a Eunos Roadster MK1
Nevermind, got in… Just worked it out on my own and it’s very worrying. No damage to the car at all. Took 5 seconds!
Glad you got in. There is a definite moral to this story which is to make sure your ‘spare’ key does actually fit the locks on the car. I will now nip off and do just that on my car!
Good tip. Have just been out and checked mine.
