Hi All,
I’ve ordered a 30AE MX5 and would like to replace the chrome badges with black to complement the orange colour.
The only place I can find replacements is from this website in the USA: https://rev9autosport.com/rev9-nd-gloss-black-badges.html
But they’re rather expensive at $255 + P&P!
Does anyone have any advice on cheaper alternatives?

Rev 9 are known for their premium pricing… I believe some people have ‘Plasti Dip’ coated their badges to turn them black, I don’t know how good quality this is, other products may also be available of this type.
Buy some badges from eBay and paint them with a plastic paint…not plastisiser.
Finish with some laquer and they will look brand new
Paint will adhere better to bare plastic than to the chromed finish. I’ve been told that if you soak the badges in bleach for a couple of weeks the chrome will come off.
If you need to remove chrome or other unprotected thin plating, just put them in the dishwasher for a couple of washes.
It took the beautiful glossy finish off our super OXO Good Grips ice cream scoop in one quick wash!
Money saving tip number 287. Don’t buy an ice cream scoop. Just buy a large tub of Ben and Jerry’s, remove lid and dive in with a spoon. The lid is superfluous just like the plastic cap on Pringles.
Used Plastidip on my NC and a friends ND and has been absolutely fine.
The good thing about it is you can peel it back off if you make a mistake or it needs to go back for sale
If these are coming from Japan and that amount is shown on the Customs docs. there is a strong probability that they will incur 20% VAT on arrival plus the carriers charge for clearing customs.
