OK, we are good to go!Whilst the Regulations for the hill climb element has beaten me (the cost and red tape were beyond belief) we have something much better…AUTOSOLO.I knocked up a quick website and the link is below, it gives full details of the event which I believe will be a great day, where fun is guaranteed and we have the chance to raise some money for the Help for Heroes charity.

Hopefully the forum will spread the word and lots of club members will make a day of it, after all, even in this financial market, you don’t get much for 15 quid, certainly not a good day out amongst friends!
Don’t panic, just wait till everyone gets to work tomorrow and ‘checks their emails’…you only have to log onto here on a weekday to see how many people are ‘checking their emails’ on the forum!!!
Hi All, Well after a flurry of initial interest, I have only had 5 people who have registered and paid. As stated before I cant run this event hoping people turn up as I need the cash up front to pay for the licences etc, in addition, the Farnbourgh District Motor club (FDMC) who have very kindly agreed to run the Autosolo at the event need to plan it and get their own club vollunteers ‘revved up’ to marshall the event.
I will keep the event open for a further 2 weeks but if I do not get the numbers I will have to cancel.

As I only had 5 people registered and paid for this event, I have tried over the last week or so to raise some money myself so I can pay the Defence Estates licence and Public Liability Insurance to allow me to keep the event open and hope there would be a mad flurry of entrants just before the event date, but unfortunately, it would be down to me paying from my own pocket and potentially taking the loss.
Therefore I regret that I am having to cancel the event. I don?t know why MX5 owners (not just from this forum) haven?t jumped at this event, maybe people thought they would not get much for £15 ? they could not have been further from the truth!!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who supported the event, in particular, Steve Castle and Carl Streatfield from the Farnborough District Motor Club who volunteered to run the Autosolo at the event, and others who offered their support, MX5parts, WIM etc, I will write a letter thanking them for their support.
I will be contacting the 5 people who have registered and paid to give them a full refund.
I guess the old saying, you can lead a horse to water rings true???
