Bleeding cooling system of trapped air

How do I go about bleeding the cooling system to get rid of trapped air after I replacing the bypass hose coming off the thermostat?

Apparently raising the front of the car - i.e. on ramps, or gradient, or front wheels on kerb can help.

 

Do as Goof says, the higher the front of the car the better. Remove the radiator cap and start the engine and when the coolant reaches temperature carefully squeeze the hose that goes to the thermostat from the radiator cap. You may need to do this for 15 minutes until all the air bubbles stop coming up at the neck of the radiator cap.
