Blocked windscreen washer nozzles/Dirt in bottle

Hello folks

I don’t quite know which forum section this sits in, buts here’s hoping. My windscreen washer bottle is full of black sludge and this is now floating round. Consequently, the pump is struggling, and the jets are all over the place between working and not working.

Does anyone know how easy it is to take out the bottle, and remove the jets in order to clean the system?

Hi terry depending on which mark you have there might be slight variations. The washer bottle has 2 screws/bolts that hold it in place, unplug the wiring for the pump, you can remove the pump by gently pulling it out of the bottle, also gently pull off the piping to the jets. As re the jets , open bonnet and where the jets are you will find a circlip that slides out so you can remove the jets from the top. Once you have removed all items you can then give it all a good clean. Refitting is reverse of removal. Hope this helps. Steve.

Thanks Steve.

I will give it a go today.

Well folks, totally wrecked my drivers side jet nozzle–by using the wrong tool. Any one know how to remove the pillar (of the jet) from the plastic trim on the bonnet of a Mark 3?
