my theory if you don’t spin at least once you aren’t trying hard enough.
Can I add my thanks to all involved especially Jon and Louise , the Blyton park staff and instructors, Paul Roddison and his team, all the Mazda5 race guys , the girls in the cafe, marshalls , anybody else I have forgot to mention and lastly all the other drivers whose friendliness , advice , offers of passengers rides ( especially Nick and his son Jeremy ) really made this first track event memorable for myself and my son-in-law David.

( red mk1 with Opie’s oils transfers , I thought they would look nice for the event but I might leave them on ! )
Wow, great weekend. I wish I could have been there for both days but I had lots on. The evening sounded fantastic but the other half wanted to get home as she had a couple of later nights and early mornings. I was the guy polising in the marquee. Met some lovely people.
Thats Why im there, but thats only possible due to the other staff manning the desk all day.
I get to do something which I really enjoy, Helping others gain confidence and speed.
I also get to show how pleased I am that the club does these events, If i had not attended the track day at Haynes Museum at the Spring rally, I would Not probally be racing now. And thats all down to the club and its motsport section.
Ooooh its MAX5 racers the one you mentioned are the “other Lot”
Have to add my vote of thanks for what was a terrific weekend.
I came for the world record parade last year, determined that I just had to have a go so that is what I did.
Special mention for Iain sorting out everyones tickets and putting up with daft questions, but everyone else deserves a big pat on the back. Especially the guys in the tow truck who pulled me out of the muddy field! (It was very wet in that first Sunday session.)
But honestly I think what really makes this event special is ALL the members of whatever ability getting on really well and enjoying the cars as they were meant to be.
No need to say any more than that really. Apart from to add my thanks to everyone involved in organising and running the event of course. It was awesome
Just like to give a special thanks to the marshals. They were out for a long weekend in ALL weathers & were quick to come to aid, just as quick getting people back out & somehow remained cheerful in my experience - well done those people!
Thanks for the passenger rides on Saturday in the race cars, great fun and even enjoyed the spin!
Sunday morning novice was my first time on track, in the rain with standing water, thoroughly enjoyed it, and was so greatful for the ABS when braking hard for the wiggle, recon I would have struggled at least once without it. (or maybe I would have been more cautious).
I booked an instructor for the final novice session, and it was worth it, gave me loads of help and allowed me to realise just how late you can brake, and how smooth you have to be for a fast lap
Will definately do it again, thanksto Jon and the team for organising it.
