BLYTON TRACK WEEKEND

Just got back from a great weekend at Blyton.Had a great day on track and a couple of passanger rides with the race guys.A big thanks to them and all the organizers for a working so hard to keep everything running smoothly. Really enjoyed it and will definitely do it again !

Just got back from the Blyton weekend with Project Merlot and I’ve got that lovely I’ve been on a track day dirty feeling but twice as bad! Thanks to the organisers for making it happen again and to everyone for supporting it…

Now, about next year…

Thankyou everyone involved in running the weekend. Had a great time on track and the different ability sessions worked really well I think. I even got onto the rolling road Confused Less power than I thought.

Bring on the next one Thumbs up

It was brilliant, all of it, on and off the track, even the weather defied all logic and was pretty much OK for the whole two days… Thanks folks… Big Smile

Thanks from me too. My first track day and now hooked!

Thumbs upWell done and many, many thanks to Jon, Louise and team for another great weekend.

We had a brilliant time and I got to confuse a lot of people by driving the MEV Exocet a lot slower than Neil does!

Though it was only my second track day, (last years Blyton bash was my first,) I think I improved a lot especially after the passenger laps.

Look forward to the next one, I hope the club committee realise what a popular event this is.

quite a lot of the commitee were on the track driving, you couldn’t keep us away. …Thumbs up

 Great weekend

Thanks to all the organisers & staff for a great weekend. Great atmosphere!

Really enjoyed the track time, both dry and wet, great fun !! The car has never worked so hard…

Thanks for all the passenger rides - fun seeing how it should be done and smiling all the way round.

Will be back ,

Andrew

Big thumbs up from me!!

Plenty of track time, and the split morning sessions worked very well.

Great of you to organise it 5 mins from my house too Big Smile

My second track event after hving attended Blyton last year…  and I confirm last years fun was not just novelty - this year just as much fun again and I got faster!  The morning sessions coupled with open track for the afternoon worked very well, an excellent way of balancing the needs of a range of different drivers and of encouraging first-timers.  As for the weather, quite how with so much rain available it managed to largely avoid the track I’m not sure!

A top notch father/son event, although Jack did seem to get into the habit of abandoning me each time we finished a intermediate session and go jump in a properly driven racing spec car.  Many thanks to everyone who was kind enough to give him a ride.  I’m concerned I may be creating a monster - its now only a few years until he will be wanting to be behind the wheel!  I suggest a fourth session catagory perhaps “those who have no on road expereince what-so-ever”!

In summary its why I pay my membership - says it all I think.  So a very heartfelt big thank you to Jon, Louise and all the team that made it happen.  Well done - you pulled it off again and it was even better!

Ian (& Jack)

Thanks to everyone involved in the organisation, such a fantastic event!

Also massive thanks to Mazda Menders for getting us back on track on Saturday.

Garry and I learnt loads as well as having lots of fun. I had my first experience of driving on a wet track and I had my first spin (I found the limit of my car - then fell off it…) Another first was being a passenger with Garry on track and also Garry being a track passenger with me - incredibly we both enjoyed it and didn’t argue at all!

I wasn’t sure I would enjoy passenger laps but I ended up doing nearly as many laps as a passenger as I did as a driver in the end both with other MX5OC members and a couple of the Max5 drivers, Paul Roddison and the guy in the blue, orange and white MK1 (I’m sorry, I didn’t catch your name…)

It was such a friendly event - I bumped into a few people I met last year and quite a few new faces too and everyone was having a great time.

Can’t wait to do it again!

Rachel and Garry

PS Also great to see a few more girls at the wheel on track!

brilliant weekend!

anyone know the name of the compny that took the pictures and if we can actualy see them?

Ditto all the great comments above - thanks to ALL those who were part of the organisation, and a BIG thankyou to a lot of people who were stuck away in marquees and garages, helping the whole think work so well.  It was my son’s (12) first time at ANYTHING like this, and you can imagine the questions after he’d been a passenger with the excellent max5 drivers and cars… “Dad… you know for my birthday, well, I said I wanted the new XBOX… well… I think I’ve changed my mind… can I have a…”  Not difficult to fill the gap!!!  Just need to talk to my wife now, to explain all the advantages of driving so early in his life.

For sure, wil be back at Blyton next year, this time WITH our car on track - and will join some events before that also.

Just as a reminder how great Blyton is, I wnt to Mallory on Sunday to watch BARC.  Mallory has very big run-off areas, but even with that, a young lad in SaxMax class needed treatment ater a smack into tyres, and the day ended with one of the Max5 drivers needing attention after a BIG slap into safety tyres.  Hopefully both OK and will be back out there without delay… all the best guys.  At Blyton, track is so open it really is PERFECT for first-time experience.

Again, thanks to ALL for a great day with me spectating and my boy passengering.  It really is incredible what these little cars can do.

was told they would be up sometime today (24/6) .

What an amazing event. Bad last-minute planning meant it had to be a flying visit as I had to head back to London at lunchtime on Saturday. But not before an excellent tuition session with Steve of MOT (made me realise how much I have to learn) and a session by myself on the track. It felt great to be lined up in the pit lane in my own car (which I drove to work only the day before), roof down, waiting for the green light. The track time was amazing fun.

Thank you for organising such a great event. Next year I’m booking proper time off so that I can be there for the whole thing.

I have thought about little else but getting back on track since returning home!

Your more than welcome Rachel, just glad that we could help so you could enjoy the full event, that is what we were there for, just get Gaz to try and get his money back on those copy calipers .

You have a P.M.

I wondered where you got to.  I was looking out for you during the afternoon but couldn’t see a silver mk3 knocking about.  Glad to hear you had a great time.
