Would like any advice about:-
Should I simply take my ND RF to a Mazda dealer repair shop or go to and independent body repair shop?
Just had a small bump on the lowest
rear panel by the left wheel.
It’s loosened the plastic around the wheel arch and the seam joining it to the panel above. So it’s not just a scratch to be repaired, though everything else is fine.
I live near Basingstoke and bought it preowned from the local dealer.
My main concern is will a Mazda dealer simply expect the whole lower panel to be replaced?
?? Dealer or independent ??
Thank You for any thoughts or advice. I’m usually a “silent” reader of the Forum.
personally, I would take it to a reputable independent body shop for that repair!
chances are you will get better work at a better price!

Thank You.
Just nervous about choosing - but that’s the next step.
See if you can find an independent one that has good reviews and see if they will let you look at repairs they are undertaking.
As well as the repair, it’s the paint match that really needs to be bang on👍

Most Mazda main dealers have an approved body shop that they farm out repairs like this to. If you give your dealer a call they will probably tell you who to take it to (mine did for a similar repair to my Mazda 6).
Very few main dealers have their own body shops these days and repair work is taken to approved body shops. There is one such body shop in Lennox Road Basingstoke called R and R. They have a web site and do work for a number of main dealers as far away as Reading. You could start with trying them, they may even do Mazda’s work, worth asking.

Yes thanks - good points!
Ah - ok. Hadn’t thought of that.
Cheers. Really appreciated yours and everyone’s thoughts.
Added “Solution” as I’m really impressed and pleased with such fast feedback - plus I’m actually travelling at the moment and struggling to respond to all the valued comments on a small mobile phone screen.
