Hi there, this is my first post, although I’ve been a member for a good while.
My mk3 has been hit, and the front bumper damaged. It’s warped, and cracked, so looks as thougt it will need replacing. Can anyone recommend a good bodyshop in the Teesside/north North Yorkshire area. Thanks for your help. Great forum, by the way!
Three Questions for you.
Why isn’t the person who hit your front bumper paying for it out of there insurance?
Why don’t you buy a new bumper and fit it yourself?
What colour car is it?
Obviously you are asking the question because you don’t want to pay Mazda Dealership prices, for some reason.
Thanks pollyana. It was my wife who hit it! She reversed her car into mine; disaster! The car’s stormy blue metallic. Fitting the bumper shouldn’t be the real problem, it’s just ensuring I get a good colour match. However, I’ve taken it to Car Spa in Thornaby today, and they’ve advised me it’s repairable, and should be perfect once done. It’s booked in for early next month. I’ll keep you posted once it’s been done.

That’s good, as I might have been able to help you out if it had been a solid colour but, I haven’t any experience of spraying metallic colours

Just to update everyone, my car has now been fixed. The bumper repair looks perfect, no detectable dent, and the paint match is spot on too. I’d definitely recommend The Car Spa on Teesside Industrial Estate, Thornaby for and such repairs. They also removed a small ding in the drivers door, and that too is now undetectable. I’m a happy chappy once more!
