Bonnet Badges (in particular the MK1)

Can anyone explain the variety of bonnet badges that adorn MX5s (in particular the MK1). I recognise the Mazda wing like logo - same as that seen on modern UK Mazdas. The Eunos logo (the slightly colourful one…) for imported cars. Where does the “flame” logo fit in to the picture? Is it just an old Mazda logo or does it tell me something about the car?

Thanks

It the eternal flame, only on MK1 I believe, not sure where it comes from

The logo appeared around 1992-93. The Eternal Flame badge is also sometimes referred to the Toilet Seat badge. Just an old logo.

Eunos product range flyer. Note the mix of models…

Thank you! Now it makes sense.

Doesn’t mention the v badge?

That’s the Eunos logo, described by OP as ‘the slightly colourful one’.

The “eternal Flame” aka toilet seat (1992) was an adjustment of the 1991 logo where the centre was square, as Renault objected to it. Early uk Mk1 (90) had no Mazda bonnet badge, only a sticker on the bumper
