Borla exhaust and catalytic converter question

Hi All,

I have an exhaust question and would really appreciate some advice before I place an order.

I’m about to order a Borla cat back exhaust system for my NA 1.8iS. My car is a 1997 model. My car’s VIN is JMZNA18P200320xxx which I think means it has the longer (475mm) catalytic converter. The Borla system I’m planning to order is part number 14411 which I am planning to order through Nemesis.

My question is will this exhaust fit a late model NA with the long (475mm) catalytic converter please? Has anyone here fitted this exhaust to a NA MX5 with a VIN later than 308212? I notice on MX5 parts that their stainless exhaust and also the IL Motorsports exhaust won’t fit cars after VIN 308212, although the OEM exhaust on their site (not stainless) fits all including the later VINS.

I recall an owner with alate model fitting this exhaust and the mid pipe had to be cut. Its a system made for the American market, which never got the longer cat.
