Bose Vs non Bose sound (sport tech Vs sport venture)

Hi

I’m currently looking for a NC 3.5 - and was set on a sport tech with Bose sound system. However there are quite a few sport ventures on sale. From what I have read these come with nav replacing the Bose sound system. I know having perfect sound quality is pointless in a car like the mx5 but audio quality is still something that is important to me. Hence if be keen to know people’s thoughts on the sport venture + after market headunit / speakers Vs the stock Bose system. I know the Bose system has an amplifier but from what I can gather it has extra speakers to. I presume the wiring for these extra speakers does not exist in venture models?

Should I wait for a sport tech to come up or should I go for a sport venture (I have found one that otherwise matches by requirements re: age / mileage / condition  etc)

Any thoughts appreciated!

I have a MK3 2.0 sport with Bose, whilst its a fairly good system, as you say a little pointless as mine is the soft top. I’d personally go for the convenience of the built in nav.
