- My model of MX-5 is: 2007 2ltr sport NC
- I’m based near: Southampton
- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Suspension
Hi all, just over a week ago I bought my first ever MX-5 (2nd ever car!!) and it’s a 2007 NC 2.0 Sport (PRHT) in Stormy Blue.
I’m looking at upgrading the suspension. Thinking about going for the Bilstein B12 Pro Kit (Bilstein dampers + Eibach springs).
I want something that Lowers the car, comfy enough for daily driving and long trips, handles way better than stock, and still decent for a couple of track days.
Basically looking for a “best of both worlds” not really fussed about changing suspension clicks for the track days as I’m not there for lap time just there for some fun with family and friends.
Has anyone here actually run the B12s on an NC? How’s the ride on rough roads? Any scraping issues with the 30mm drop? And do they hold up well on track, or start to feel a bit floaty when pushed?
Would also love to hear if you paired them with uprated ARBs or fresh top mounts and when fitting as I’m looking at replacing the mounts and getting new bump caps as well as the white line BMK004 front + rear adjustable ARB kit (24 mm front, 16 mm rear).
Just trying to figure out if they’re the sweet spot or if I’d be better off saving for decent coilovers instead.
Also just quickly I’ve also ordered EBC turbogrove disc and yellow stuff pads for front and rear (all 4 disc had to be done ) and yellow stuff pads were recommended for everyday driving but also occasional track days. The brake lines also had to be replaced so I went for the EBC stainless brake line kit and fittings. Has anyone tried all of these on their NC ?
Many thanks, Will
