Boyne Valley Battle Fields

(Oldbridge Estate) Saturday 26th July 2014

Meet McDonalds Car Park Sprucefield

Leave Sprucefield 10.30am

Take A1 south towards Dublin cross border

and continue south onto M1 South to Junction 12

Leave motorway and follow R169 sign posted Collon.

At end of road turn left (N2) drive through Collon

to Slane after passing through Slane and over the river Boyne take second road on left

South side of the river.

Sign posted Newgrange/Boyne Visitor centre.

(68 Miles to this point from Sprucefield.)

Follow this road to Boyne visitor centre (approx 9 Miles) which is after Newgrange Site.          

 Facilities within the Boyne Visitor Centre

Audio visual show, original 17th century weaponry displays, Laser battle field model, tea pavilion, toilets, picnic area, walled garden (Impressive)

Self guiding tours through parklands and battle site.

We intend to spend approx 4 Hours at the site.

To allow time to see around properly and take in all the facilities.

Entrance fee 3 euro when group is booked so again need to know number of people going.

Please have admission fee ready at Sprucefield as it has to be paid in Euro lump sum on arrival.

On leaving turn left at exit gate and left again up the North side of the river to Slane.

Turn right at traffic lights towards Derry stop at

Watters restaurant Collon for meal.

(Car park around back)

2 course 13 euro tea/coffee free.

Sweet 5.00 extra.

Hi, can you turn up on the day or do I have to pre book? Would like to do this run if my wife manages to get Saturday of work.
