brake bleeding advice needed

I am about to change the brake fluid on my Mk 2.5  Does anyone know the capacity of the system?  In FAQ it states 250 ml. but is this for a car with ABS brakes? and does it include the master cylinder?  I usually syphon off the master cylinder then bleed at each wheel by vacuum.  How much do I draw off at each wheel is the question  Last time I did this there was no change in colour of the fluid which meant I probably drew off more than necessary, [wasteful of my hard earned cash].  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I syphon off the master cylinder, then draw 10 - 12 pedal pumps from each caliper (RHF, LHF, LHR & RHR). 1/2 litre is enough for that.

Thankyou very much for the reply Robbie,  I don’t usually pump the brake pedal as I bleed with a vacuum kit.  From what you say if I syphon the master cylinder then draw off say 150cc at each wheel  I should be OK.  I found a figure of 1.5 litres for the brake fluid capacity on the miata website, seems rather a lot to me!

Regards and thanks again Geoff Peace

Realistically a brake fliud capacity can’t be quoted as it changes as the pads wear.
