Brake Fluid Level Indicator

Hi - Whilst messing about over the weekend I noticed that I have electrical connections on both my Brake Master Cylinder reservoir and that of my Washer unit. The car is a basic 1990 Eunos. Will these sensors be wired up and if not how can I get them working?

Thanks

Rod

G’day Rod

The indicator should be wired up mate. It shares a bulb with the handbrake warning light

Thanks Geoff. I suppose its just one of those things that you should NEVER allow to light up. What about the Washer Level is that on the same warning light circuit?

Rod

PS - We are enjoying some of your sunshine this week so the tops down and I am getting a great tan

Brake fluid level low shows as the handbrake light staying on permanently. I didn’t realise this for a few miles, definitely one to watch out for - never ignore a light on the dashboard without investigating.

I don’t think the washer level is on the same circuit, if nothing else for safety - you could have a look in the washer bottle, see it is empty, write it off as “fill up when I get the chance” when in fact you are running out of brake fluid as well…

Jack.

On a 1990 Roadster there is no low level warning on the windscreen washer bottle

Hi Geoff - There certainly is on mine. Will empty the water out and see what lights up.

Are you sure you’re not seeing the wires running to the washer pump, not an electronic warning?

Jack.

Err Sorry - Should know better than to argue with my betters.
