Hi everybody and Happy New Year!!
The brake pedal feels a little bit soft with bigger movement towards the surface of the car’s matt. I can also see that their efficient is not the same as it was before.
I am aware that these car’s brakes need more pressure than others but I really think that something has changed than before.
So my first thought was to change the brake fluid and now my question is which fluid do you suggest?
I have seen some suggestions like ATE Superblue Dot 4 or Motul rbf600 Dot 4, but I think there are on the advanced side, aren’t they?
Something like Mobil, Comma or something similar would be sufficient, or the extra money for a better fluid would be a better choice?
Thank you in advance
Bill
Hi Bill
Not heard from you on the forum for a while.
Brake fluid starts to give that spongy feeling when it has taken on water.
Dot 4 and don’t worry about the make. Last time I did mine used Pagid Dot 4 at around £5 for a litre delivered. A litre should be enough to do a full system.
Hi Rhino666,
My last post was some time early last month in regards to bonnet sound insulator. But apart from that I am always here looking for updates ???
As always thank you for your quick response!!
Bill
Any brand Dot4 from an unopened container. I buy it from Halfords in 5 litre bottles [£20ish] and change the fluid in all my vehicles at least yearly.
Hi everybody,
So to close this issue, I finally solved the pedal felling which was proven to be the old brake fluid. We started with a brake inspection and service finding out that the brake fluid had to changed.
Luckily for me that was the only fault and now my brakes have a really nice strong feeling.
Solving that now I am much more confident attending the Blyton Park and the end of the month!
Thank you guys for your help!
Bill
