Brake pad wear indicator nd

    am I right that the nd has no warning up on the dashboard when the brake pads wear down.the manual just states that there is a screeching sound from the brakes to warn you. which is ok I suppose just seems a bit antiquated

From what I remember, the ones that use a contact to initiate a brake wear warning light can be a bit unreliable.

Nearly all Japanese cars use a soft metal “squealer”.
