If you have other transport, better to go than phone, but watch what you agree to on price, they tend to be a bit ‘iffy’. If your can runs O/K - better to go in it.
M1 to A50, over the lights and island, take the next left slip road, and round the island to Shardlow, they are just immediately after the bridge right hand side. (traffic lights as it’s one way) It’s also on the way to ‘The Clock warehouse’ where monthly meets were held till it was closed for renovation.
You can’t miss them (it says here) various Fives outside, renovated cars they are trying to sell. Their unit is on the right of the car park.
Thanks for responses have locate parts in Doncaster will pick up this week ,fingers crossed !!
As above continued 1 recovered Sat driven into garage 2 started today driven out of garage replacement coil pack fitted ran for 8 /10 mins cut out now non start ,tacho dead 12 volts to coil pack .What next ? cam sensor ? ,I have a replacement Known good Seems to fault when part warm but starts when cold HELP !!!
My 92 MK1 had a similar problem it turned out to be engine temp sensor showed normal on the dash but told ECU engine was hot.May be a cheap one to try.
Temp gauge seemed to be ok before problem and has not been a problem over or under reading , carpets [n/s] dry and am presuming ecu ok , would igniter pack on o/s inner wing be a possible culprit ? orig prob was a slight stutter ,would pull 6000 + and then a couple of days later stopped , whilst waiting for the recovery truck [ 1+ hours ] tried it and it started drove onto truck 2mins and drove into garage at home , started following day ! but I daren’t take it out fitted replacement known good coilpack started ran 8/10 min stopped and has not sterted again , all earths good tight and clean battery charged as precaution !13v + Where do I go next !!!
You’re in Nottinghamshire ?

Ok still non start have changed 1 coil pack [known good] 2 HT leads ditto 3 waiting for igniter box , decided plugs could be iffy pulled them DRY ? now thinking I have 2 faults !!! . how do I check fuel delivery as I know its a high pressure system ? Begining to consider Arson , suicide or both HELP !! please !!
Mick have you checked that you have power to the igniter box?If i read it correctly you lost your rev counter the igniter box i believe may supply the pulse for this.Ihave a certain amount of test equipment and am based in Derby You May contact me directly @.ianbaines44@hotmail.co.uk

Hi please read ALL above before commenting or offering cures, fitted igniter pack today and a new set of plugs not a thing ! . All parts fitted except plugs [new ] came from running vehicles , passenger floor carpets are dry so ecu is presumed good ,the orig prob happened on a dry day mild but certainly not damp or cold , all earths are clean and tight, all connectors are clean and dry , engine turns as normal BATTERY voltage now coming down but can be recharged easily . how do I check fuel delivery and what other checks would be advised , after a week of hopefully checking all possible causes I am no further forward and do not know where to go next ! other than getting the car to a specialist ,there are a number not to far away from me but I don’t suppose I will get much joy for a week or so at the best , all comments welcomed but no basics please Mick . I have tools and experience [50 ish years ] weak spot is electronics please help !
You need to check that there is fuel flowing to the fuel rail via one of the pipes on the driver’s side inner wing (the other is a return) during cranking. Ideally you need to measure the pressur, but you’re into special tools then. Check for a 12 volt feed at each fuel injector and a switched earth during cranking. This is hard to do depending on what tools you have.
Hello Mick,i do not wish to be classed as a time waster. So here goes, how about i drive my MK1 running sweet over to you and try check by substitution its the only thing i can think of.
Kind Regards
