Hi all
I broke the glass on the ND RF launch edition today. It has blind spot monitoring. Can anyone tell me how easy it is to replace without garage? I’m hoping not too painful?
They are usually a clip in type of fitting on a central pivot. I’ve removed one on an NC in the past, that was also clip in/on.
You have to be brave and lever it out, I’d be putting some tape over the whole glass before removal on yours.
Btw mx5parts haven’t got stock of the drivers side MK4 (blind spot) mirror so I’d hold fire until they are available unless you try the dealer first.

Perfect thanks both.
Shame it’s not in stock was hoping to get one before the MX-5 of Mk&C end of summer car show and goodwood revival. I’ll try a dealer on Monday see if I have any luck. So annoying as I’d just finished cleaning the car and noticed it was loose and then proceeded to crack it! Doh!
I was fortunate my order on MX-5 parts was the last one in stock so I got the mirror yesterday and fitted in the evening. All went well and was relatively easy. Turns out the old mirror housing was damaged hence why it’s always been rather sensitive to popping out when being cleaned since I’ve owned it. So whilst I accidentally broke the glass I think it was a job that needed doing.
I followed manual except I didn’t bother with disconnecting battery as it seemed a large amount of hassle to reset and it didn’t affect the install or function. Also one thing manual doesn’t mention is grease for the female joints on back of mirror by time you wipe all crud out you need more grease - pic below of the snapped pieces and I’m sure I didn’t break them when removing the part
