If you’ve only seen it half a dozen times, it’s on at 21.05 (five past nine)
If you ain’t seen it yet - WHY NOT?

Good spot! - just set to record
mahaged the 2nd half. always worth a watch
The chase is a bit of a puzzle though - I know the ‘stang’ was souped up, but by engine sounds, it sounds like a six speed box, and it only had a four speed one. At least mine did. Steve didn’t actually do most of the driving (though he could have, insurance wouldn’t let him) so except for close up shots, most of the chase was a stunt driver. Never mentioned, but my guess is the Charger was also driven by a stunt driver. (you need guts to do it.)
I once read ‘tips from a stunt driver’ years ago, and common practice was when coming to a crash, they dived over the seat back, and lay on the floor. You never see this in films! Obviously they also wear crash gear.
I think they were breathed on to Shelby standards but I don’t think they were actual Shelby as in showroom.
If you look closely at the 'Stangs zorst smoke puffs on the upchanges, they don’t quite match the soundtrack but who cared?
The double declutching on the way to the fateful petrol station was epic…but likely utterly unrequired.
A good few Stangs were written off…4 or 5 I read a while back. Steve’s son Chad found the last one ( apparently) and had it nut-bolted.
God knows how much that is worth.
Bullit is just one of these movies…like God Father 1, that draws me to revisit every other decade.
It seems, from a recent documentary during an interview with Steve’s son Chad, he whispered on his hospital bed regarding " did he or not" ride the bike over the fence in the Great Escape " I did it!"
Fab movie - not to be missed !
McQueen is just cool personified !
Chris Phillips.
However, if car chases are really your thing, check out the original (1975 ish) version of Gone In 60 Seconds (definitely not the awful Nicholas Cage remake !).
And how about The Blues Brothers ?
French Connection - part one!
If confirmed, this may be the movie car holy grail being found:

The location of the Hero car (the car used for close up shots) is known, and is the car that McQueen tried to buy back. The car use for the chase sequences was thought to be sold for scrap, due to damage. Well it was, but it seems it wasn’t cubed.
Vin 8R02S125559 was the hero car. 8R02S125558 was the chase car.
