Bumper protection

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __NC
  2. I’m based near: __Chester
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __bodywork protection

I’ve had Meisterr CRD’s fitted and I’m very please with resulting improvements in handling and looks, but have discovered a major problem with the driver. I have now scrapped the front on 2 occasions. Although the long term solution is to just have it repaired, I’m going to be honest and say that there is a chance I’ll do it again in the short term. So does anyone of a something I put on the front that will toughen it up while I learn to park properly. I’ll add that it has to some what aesthetically pleasing, so no I beam. I was thinking of something carbon fibre, but not to precious. I’ve seen a very nice spliter that I’ll probably look at in the future but I think at the moment I need something more “robust”.

You could try sticking some of this on the front where you are getting it scratched 104cm Car Rear Bumper Sill Body Guard Protector Rubber Plate Trim Strip Cover UK | eBay
Can be removed when you learn to park :grinning:
If you fit a splitter and catch it you will only rip it off and wreck it and the mounting points!

I should say, in my defence this was not an issue in my previous car due to slightly better clearance.

Blimey.
Love the Landy.

The pre facelift NC seems to get away with a little scrapage under the bumper as it’s black plastic. The painted lower bumper on the later cars seem prone to any low kerbs etc if lowered as you found out.
Keep your distance, you’ve found out the hard way.:-1:

might be a good idea to fit a small camera in the grill that looks straight down.

Fit a reverse camera (I have) and reverse park all the time. :slightly_smiling_face::+1:
