Hi All, Trying to change cam belt, Having trouble removing cam pulley. Is there a tool needed. It will not move.
Surely you mean the crank pulley? cam pulleys usually just fall off when mounting bolts removed.
Usual method is put car in 4th or fifth gear, have a third party stand on the footbrake and start with a 24 inch breaker bar and six sided 21mm socket. Increase leverage with a part scaffold pole or similar but most let go with a two foot breaker bar.
When it finally lets go you may need to carefully replace the main crank pulley to have enough easy leverage to reset your marks.
Thanks I did mean the crane pulley lol. Is it possible that the pulley also could be jammed on .
on my mk2 it would not budge , this home made locking tool like this is the answer

Oh, so the crank pulley bolt is loose/out and the pulley is stuck in place?
Do you mean the aux belt over pulley and boss or the crank belt pulley which is held in place with a woodruff key.
That key can be quite stiff to remove - be careful not to mangle it. It goes back in a particular way too.
Yes the Aux belt over pulley one.
