As per the other posts and emails Daz has stood down as joint AC with responsibility for the Cambridgeshire monthly meet and local events. Robbie Marsh was asked by Daz to step in and keep things going which Jamie and myself were OK to endorse. Robbie had previously expressed interest in the joint AC role prior to Daz standing at the last Cambs so was more than happy to take over. Hopefully everyone is OK with the change in arrangements and will offer Rob full support to carry on as joint Eastern Region AC at the Tuesday meeting.
Comments below or drop Jamie and me an email with any concerns.
Welcome to the team Robbie
Further to Martin’s and Jamie’s posts.
Sue and I would like to add our thanks to Robbie for stepping into Daz’s shoes. We wish Robbie every success with the uptake of this difficult position.
Maybe now we can put an end to all the difficulties that have gone before. Hopefully we can now establish a Cambridgeshire MX-5 meeting that will cater for all our members needs. We sincerely hope that this change of direction will benefit everybody.
Also, just a reminder about the new convoy to Tuesday’s meet. We will be meeting on the side road at Cottenham Green at 7.15pm for a 7.30 pm departure. Hope to see you all on Tuesday.
Does this mean that Robbie has been appointed as the AC of the Cambridgeshire group by the OC, or is this a temporary appointment which is subject to ratification by the members of the Cambs group?
as I said above… it needs support at the meeting,
“Hopefully everyone is OK with the change in arrangements and will offer
Rob full support to carry on as joint Eastern Region AC at the Tuesday
meeting”
I sent the text below in reply to some emails regarding contact information in the Newsletter.
Daz asked me if I would hold the fort for now to which I agreed. I am happy to continue in Daz’s role for now unless there is any objection from Members or someone else wants to take it on, but judging by the response when the A/C post was offered out earlier in the year I doubt there will be much up take. I believe the post will go up for re-election around Christmas time. If there are any issues then it will be up to Martin and Jamie to make a decision on how to approach them. I was going to cover the above at the meet on Tuesday.
Thank you Martin - I just wanted to be some clarification.
Robbie: I have no objections whatsoever to you being AC for the Cambridgeshire group, I think that you will make an excellent job of it and I wish you all the best for it.
Ok, so call me slow or am I missing something here, did we not have a meeting that catered for Cambridgeshire members, and what is this change of direction that is going to benefit everyone.
I was under the impression that the ‘Fenland Fives’ was moving forward and was actually growing in stature as seen at the last meet. Ok so Daz has decided to stand down, (and yes I understand why)and Rob will
take the reins, but I am still a little confused. I guess more will come to light Tuesday evening.
