Its on both sides. They arent original Mazda units but Lexus style replacements. I’ve taken the assembly apart today (wife had a snooze after all that turkey!) but this is inside the light housing. Only thing I can think of is soaking it in something that will kill the mould? Any suggestions?
I think some people put their front indicators in the oven so they can split them and get rid of the orange stuff.
You might be able to do that, though I don’t know how hot. But, you’ll definitely need to get some sort of anti bacterial stuff in there, maybe what is used in showers, to clean it out
its quite easy to split, just warm the oven up then place lights in the oven so the sealent become warm, carfully prize the clear cover from the backing and cut the stringy bits of sealant off. then for putting them back together just reverse the process
by the way lexus lights look mint if you coulour code the chrome bits with you car(in my opinion)
You’ll prbably need to take the unit apart and use a cotton bud or similar to bet into the nooks and crannies because I would think that if any is left behind, it will grow again in that nice warm environment. If you’ve got algae in there, it must also be damp for it to grow, so you will probably need extra sealnt once its dried. You could try neat bleach or ?? aqarium algae killer!
My clear ones do that as well, putting hose on full pressure seems to blast a lot of it out if you aim it sort of side ways, I would guess a carefully used pressure washer would also help, or possibly one of those steam cleaner things you can get for the house. The green is not sealed inside, it is get at able.
