Can't make Blyton? Couldn't get track time?

If you can’t make Blyton 1 - 3 or were too late for track time, don’t worry. We appear to be having a mini practice meeting on the 25th May. We already have 15 MX-5’s from the OC in attendance plus Mr Roddison and Robinson for added MaX5ness. They are both very physically similar and are probably brothers separated at birth by some quirk of fate, the only way we know to tell them apart is Alan has the Red Car and Paul has the Blue one. Red car, blue car, what could possibly go wrong?

So anyway, it is an open pit lane track day, with plenty of time and space on track, lots of good tuition available, especially useful if you would like to get some sneaky practice is ahead of the bash in June and impress everyone with your driving skills, or similarly make an arse of yourself without hundreds of people watching, it’s all good fun and Richard, the owner, was most upset in March when the RX-8 club refused to turn their traction control off and no one spun. You don’t get Jonathan Palmer saying that! But it does highlight how safe the venue is and how relaxed attitudes are.

For an very OC flavor track day with no pressure on track, go HERE, perfect if you can’t come in June.

Yes that’s the only difference.

apart from the 2 seconds for every track mile in lap times !

looking good Nick.

Can anyone pop along for a spectating session?? I’m not far from Blyton

Yes is the simple answer.

Great - i’ll be popping along then, thanks  Cool

I’m looking forward to seeing how mine goes on track - and I’m sure being shown how it should be done by the racers!

I’ve got some tuition booked, so that should help! Will be good to meet those who are there on saturday - I’ll be in a silver '56 reg mk3 if you want to say hi!

Weathers looking fine

Car, tools and 6X £25 jerrycans Loaded.

Helmet , camera’s and intercom packed along with 4 X Helmets.

oooooh and the  R888’s are out for the first time in ages…

Heres hoping the car is up to it?

Alan

A great day out. Weather was fantastic , MOT staff as good as usual .

Strange fellow doing the briefings though!

My group from Cheshire and north Wales all had a great time and I think we might have a few converts.

uma went well on her penultimate outing.

track etiquette was as good as normal.

Great to meet some of u today. Was great to see so many new people that were having so much fun. It seems you can drive with 7 stiches but you wake up very sore the next day.

And as normal the sun came out

It was a great day, and I learned a lot about how to improve my track driving from Paul - along with an eye-opening ride in his race car! Thanks to the MoT team for a well organised day, and with (from a novice) some very good courteous driving from everyone.

Seeing some of the very nicely turned out cars on the day was great - although might be painful for my wallet, as I’m now getting the upgrade itch…

I’ve got loads of video from the day that will take some editing - but here’s a little clip with my big moment at Port Froid towards the end!

Your very welcome mate, glad you enjoyed the day

Paul

Sadly my day didn’t go too well as first I had an oil leak from the newly fitted oil cooler which I did fix but then I kept getting intercooler pipes blowing off which I couldn’t get fixed on the day. Hopefully its all sorted now so I will be ready for blyton 1-3 and more importantly so will the car!Big Smile
