Car cover

My MX5 MK 2.5 is just about to come out of the garage after its winter sleep.  I have washed it several times during the winter but am amazed at how dusty it gets just sitting in the garage so in readiness for next winter I would like to buy a soft interior cover for it.  Has anyone got any advice on the best cover to buy.  I do have all summer to get it!!!  Thanks in anticipation of some great advice.

I’ve just bought one of these for exterior use

It’s very well put together so I suspect their garage cover

Would be pretty good as well.

I had one of the exterior covers for my NB (bought by the previous owner). I always felt it was a bit thin and although in reality I rarely used it as the car was normally kept in the garage, on the occasions when it was left outside I found quite a lot of condensation built up under the cover. I had an Auto-pyjama cover for my old MG which was extremely good. They’re a bit more expensive but last well and let condensation escape. Not sure if they do a cover for the NB though. You’d have to check.

I too have considered getting an indoor cover although the car does get used throughout the year and is washed regularly so I don’t really have issues with the car getting dusty. I also find that giving the garage a sweep out every few months helps keep dust levels down.

2 x King size flat (ie non-fitted) cotton sheets from Primark.  Total cost about £7.00.

I also used a huge dust sheet, plus an old duvet to protect the bonnet from dings.

Unfortunely, the wife kept stealing the dust sheet for various things, so I replaed it with one of these https://www.beal.org.uk/automotive/covers-seat-covers-mats/waterproof-pva-car-cover.html

Cheap and cheerful but does the job well.

My NB lives in an Outdoor Carcoon but I cover it with king size cotton bed sheets (Asda Specials) before putting the Carcoon over it not forgetting the supersoft socks on the mirrors.
