Car ID from Chassis number

Is there any way of finding out the model from the chassis number?

I recently picked up our 1991 Eunos, in Classic red, but I’m unsure exactly what model it is, the chassis number starts with E-NA6CE, if this means anything…

Its fitted with aircon, electric windows, power steering, speakers in headrests, LSD maybe?

But doesn’t have ABS, electric mirrors…

Does anyone have any idea what the model is, if not just a basic one…

Cheers,

Mark

You can’t tell anything from the VIN, except that is is a 1.6, only from the codes on the drivers door shut.

But yours is pretty straightforward, as its red. If early 1991 (H plate), likely a S-Package (ie. the most popular trim level). If late 1991, it might also be a S-Special; drivers door shut sticker will say Bilstein, and you can identify the factory bilsteins as they are yellow. S-Specials also fitted with Momo steering whee and yellow strut brace,

Power mirrors not available on 1.6 Roadsters.

There are online vin decoders that will identify around 80% of early cars like your, denoting build date, colour and trim package.

Fair enough,

Sadly the sticker in the door shut doesn’t exist anymore as the car was resprayed around 10 years ago, pity…

The steering wheel is a 3 spoke with Eunos in the middle, no strut brace, now anyway… So kinda sums up what it is…

Oh, and its fitted with alloys that look similar to the old mini-lites, just a bit bigger.

The car has sat since then garaged, it looks all original apart from the respray, with only just on 100K Km on the clock and sounds and drives like new… I’ll upload some photos soon when I get a minute…

Cheers…

Wheels are after market.

Will give you exact build date if the chassis number is in the database. Generally this data is ok until 1993, and from 1996, and really patchy in between

https://www.japan-partner.com/check-manufacture-year.php

Will give you month and year of manufacture, then a bit more information, such as original colour, original interior spec, and trim level “modification” or model code.

Or NA6CE-209203
This car was built 30th November 1992.
