Ordered a set of the Carbonmiata quited floor mats for my wife’s MK3 through their European distributor Carbonhaus last week and they arrived this evening, they look like they are well made quality part. I had an initial quick fit of the drivers side and it looks good but I have a couple of questions to anyone who has fitted their RHD mk3
what’s the best way to fit the quilted mat around the footrest? Remove footrest completely or pierce two holes in mat and fit below footrest?
I fitted IL Motorsport ones to my Mk1 and definitely would sit them under the side sill covers (as on Mk1) as it will stop you catching them getting in and out. Personally I would retain the footrest, although sometimes annoying when declutching due to the offset pedal position, it is overall of benefit on longer runs.
Would like to see some photos when fitted as may do my Mk3.
So had a bit more time yesterday to fit the mats into the car, passenger side took round fifteen minutes to fit into place, seats and centre console don’t have to be removed from car and I tucked the mat under the centre console, you may break a finger nail dong this but the fit is very good and tight and should stay in place, I did try and tuck under the sill trim but found this lifted the trim slightly out of place so for now is left untucked, looks fine and no issue with this though may just get some Velcro strips just to hold it.
The drivers side mat also fits very well, the issue I have is that IL Motorsport covers are fitted and the mat is designed to go over the footrest which is fine but with the IL cover fitted it looked a bit naff half covered up, I did try sandwiching the mat between the footrest and cover but I am a bit concerned that over time tension on the mat may cause it to wear or split, I could have also made a cut in the mat and tucked it behind and below the footrest but didn’t want to risk slicing the new mat. So for now I have completly removed the footrest and will see how I get on with this if I don’t like it I may refit but without the IL cover, I did however piece a small hole in the mat and used the lower 10mm nut as an anchor point for the carpet mat if needed
I also pierced another small hole for the carpet mat anchor point so if I use the carpet mats will stop this from moving around, again also on the drivers side tucked under centre console but left untucked at sill.

The stitching looks durable, nylon thread maybe, stitching looks very neat and tidy they do seem they can handle normal wear and tear ok, yes they are washable and I imagine should be able to clean any debris out of footwells easily enough, ask me again in a few months time, these can be ordered in a variety of colours I almost ordered them in all black.
Yes i probably will still use the original mats on top, located the position of the mat anchor clip on drivers side and made a small slice in mat so I can fit original carpet mat on top without it sliding around.
