CarPlay Greyed out

I installed a USB-C Wireless hub bought from AliExpress. This was about 2.5 years ago, and it’s been running absolutely fine. I’ve even changed my phone in this time, and the change over was no issues, and undergone a further firmware update to keep the unit current.

All of a sudden, CarPlay is no longer working.
I’ve tried basic trouble shooting, I.e removing my phone from the car, the car from the phone, and trying to set-up from scratch. No joy. Added info, I cannot see anything to connect my phone to on the WiFi/Bluetooth menus (viewed on the phone).

What would be your thoughts/further troubleshooting steps?

My CarPlay stopped working last year and no matter how many resets on the car and phone I did, it wouldn’t work even though it had been faultless for over 2 years. I carried out the following DFU and all is good. Hopefully it works for you.

I had issues connecting wirelessly and hardwired until I carried out a DFU (Device Firmware Update) on my iPhone. Nothing else worked, including resetting the infotainment system, but now all is fine. Is it not indicative of an error with the USB hub that I cannot view/select a Bluetooth connection?

I tried ‘fixing’ this problem with my partners phone, and I still have the same problems.

I don’t know exactly what the problem is. I had an issue where CarPlay stopped working and carrying out the DFU process fixed the problem but it doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for you.

Does it work with a cable connection?

You don’t have a VPN enabled do you? My Android Auto doesn’t work if I do on mine.
