If you have been to Jap Fest at Castle Combe and had a little play on track, or just wished you had, then Mazda on Track have a track day there on the 15th July.
Castle Combe’s planning regulations are quite restrictive and most of the track time there is limited to 12 cars on track in 15 minute sessions, just like Jap Fest, however we have one of their rare days that we can run as open pit lane.
Combe is one of two tracks in the South West, Thruxton being the other. Both suffer running restrictions, Thruxton being virtually unusable fo
r track days, meaning that anyone from that area that wants to play on track in their car usually has a long journey to one of the midland circuits or beyond. Therefore this is an ideal opportunity for those local, or wanting to driver Combe without being watched by 100’s of people that wear baseball caps backwards.
It will be a limited numbers day and there are several cars booked already.
i have booked already its my second track day , my first was at brands hatch lots of 911s and caterhams so forever watching my mirrors , hopefully i will be able to compete better , looking forward to it

Glad to hear that you are looking forward to it. Brands Hatch can be a very frustrating circuit as it can be very busy and passing opportunities are limited. Combe is very different and while zpat is correct that trackdays are none competitive events I know exactly what you mean and I am sure you will be able to give a much better account of yourself. Book some tuition if you have not already, cheapest upgrade going.
For all those that also found Blyton a great day out, beats washing the car doesn’t it, or thought it was too far to travel from the west, then Combe is a great circuit and well worth a play. Remember to use the OC discount MX5OC2014 to get your 10% discount.
Have booked onto this, it will be my first track day so will deffo need tuition! Looking forward to it as I’ve done some parade laps at Combe before but nothing at higher speed
just got back , what a great day superb track great company , the tution was very good nick got me stamping on the brake and attacking the bends by the end i was getting up to the red line and building confidence cant wait to do it again , many thanks to nick and oli from mazda on track
Brilliant day, well organised by Mazda on Track with helpful tuition from Nick. Lovely challenging circuit, found I could get into a nice flowing rhythm on it and was much more confident by the end. Everyone was really friendly, good to meet you Richard, glad you got home safely. The drive home seemed incredibly slow!
