Cat c extensive damage

Found out my car is a cat c extensive damage write-off. Does this mean structural? It was written off in 2012, could it have been something minor but because the car’s value was so low back then, it was written off?

Thinking about not spending anymore money on it and just enjoying it for this summer and selling it.

In 2012, most Mk1s were worth hardly anything. A car with a minor ding would have been a Cat C. Someone thought it worth saving considering in 2018 they had new sills fitted.

It was sold to someone else in 2017 so could be that it wasn’t disclosed that it had been in an accident when it was sold.

I guess I’ll just have to get it inspected to make sure it’s not bent and has been repaired properly then go from there.
