CB radio install

Does anyone know the best way run CB radio coaxial from the boot to the seating area on a MK3 MX 5

What parts of the trim are required to be removed

Regards Bernie

Use an aerial or similar with the plug taped to it to help feed it through.

Remove the kick plate, the seat belt surrounds and the panel behind the seat and with some jiggery pokery the plug will evenyaully appear.

We have used CB’s for a few years now but all of us also use external speakers as they are much better then the speaker in the unit, these can be neatly bolted or cable tied to the windblocker.

I’ve done as the above post to route mine.

But be aware if you are using a magnetic mount aerial on softop nc1 (not sure about other versions) the boot is ali and mount won’t stick, but the strip where the brake light is is metal. Also on print models boot is metal.

Mag mount sticks to the boot lid if it’s a PRHT Coupe; it’s steel. Pain in the arse to feed the cable through, however, but basically the same method as described above. Driver side is the easiest route.

Whats a PRHT Coupe ?

Whats a NC1 soft top

PRHT - Power Retractable Hard Top

NC1 - MX5 mk3 1st model.
