I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __Central locking
Noticed today that my passenger door central locking has started to stick. By this I mean that when I press the button to open the doors I can hear the solenoid(?)/motor and the door lock starts to move inside the door but doesn’t fully complete its journey and so stays locked. A slight nudge on the lock inside and it works fine. Door locks on the remote without issue.
I’m wondering if anything needs a bit of lube, is it just the cold weather or is something worse looming?
If this is just affecting the passenger side?
If your driver side and boot locks work positively off the fob I’d suggest you have a failing actuator on the passenger side.
Sometimes they start to fail intermittently then go altogether, well that was my case anyway.
Yep just passenger side. Everything else works fine. Googled it and my symptoms are different to ones found on the net. Mine always works but perhaps doesn’t pull/push far enough.
The only thing with that is a lube of the moving parts of the system. A possibility of the lock catch needing a squirt on the door edge. I stripped my door card off to take a look, nothing really amiss in there.
Mine do this normally on hot days with whichever door faces the sun but now can happen anytime. You can see the lock inside move but not all the way. Then starts been normal for weeks at a time so left it.
