Centre Gravity Wheel Alignment

Hi guys,

I’ve been doing a bit of looking about for wheel alignment and geometry set up for my car near my area. (Birmingham) Obviously everyone knows WIM here, but it’s a trek for us in the Midlands and them oop norf! I was pointed in the direction of Centre Gravity in Tamworth by the S2000 owners club who swear by them, saying they are the absolute dogs danglies! I emailed them for a quote last night as apparently to get a look in you have to book months in advance and got a quote back from them this morning for the following:

Test drive,
Pre load car with weight (fuel ballast / driver ballast for sports setup),
Tyre data check and adjust,
Ride height check,
Geometry check and adjust,
Test drive,
Before and after tyre and ride height report,
Before and after geometry check and report.

Should take 4.5 hours according to them

The cost… £300! {#emotions_dlg.indif}

Now I know WIM is about £140 so I was expecting it to be about the same, but £300! All I can say is it must be the absolute best alignment ever at that price! Admittedly £50 of that is VAT as well, but still!

Anyhoozers, I can’t afford that kind of money for alignment, but maybe interested members of the OC from the Midlands and North could make themselves known and see if we could negotiate some kind of club discount perhaps? Just a thought…

Here’s their website if anyone is interested… http://www.centergravity.co.uk/

Also has anyone on here had their car done by them? If so was it worth the extra?!

Atb,

Squidlord

POp your post code into this site http://www.alignmycar.co.uk/ all the centres are supposed to have the Hunter equipment favoured by WIM. Find a convenient one then call Tony at WIM and ask him to check them out. He’s normally very happy to do this. £300

I’ve had a few alignments done in the Birmingham area.  Have PM’d you the details.

S2000 owners have way too much money to waste! lol

Anyone got any experience or recommendations for the South Wales area?

They’ll “adjust the tyre data”??

Maybe that means a new set of tyres…that might make it a reasonable quote. Otherwise it’s hilarious!
