Changing my dampers and springs

  1. My model of MX-5 is: nd1 2.0
  2. I’m based near: Newcastle
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on:
    when i am changing my damper on my car the lower bolt on the rear set seems to lock out and not moved after couple of turns am i doing something wrong. i have used some wd40 to help the bolt

There is nothing special about it, it should just undo. They don’t tend to rust that much either as they are enclosed. Is it the same both sides?

I use a product called ‘liquid wrench’ I had great results with seriously seized bolts using this.

I did the same job today, couldn’t even turn it with a long bar not matter how much WD40 or penetration oil I used and didn’t want to use heat, ended up getting out my impact wrench and it came off in a split second.

I find it is the usual best solution IF there’s room for the wrench and possible extensions.
