This meet is going to include a 47.5 mile run from Ewloe/Hawarden…taking in some fantastic driving roads through picturesque North Wales via Mold, St Asaph, Llanfair TH & Llanrwst to The Old Goods Yard, Betws-Y-Coed, Conwy LL24 0AL.
The meet/start point will be the same as the Ponderosa run; from St Davids Park Hotel, Ewloe/Hawarden, Flintshire, CH5 3YB - just off the A55 & less than a mile away from our regular Monthly venue.
I would like to suggest that everyone arrives bright & early before 10.00am for a 10:15am departure.

Total Distance = 47.5 Miles…Approx travelling time = 1 hour 20 mins…Estimated Average Fuel Cost = £12.76
Directions:
1. Head northeast on St Davids Park = 285 ft
2. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto B5125 = 318 ft
3. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit up the slip-road towards Mold//Chester/Conwy/A55 = 0.2 mile
4. Merge onto A494 = 0.7 mile
5. At junction 33b, exit onto A494 & continue toward Mold through 2 sets of lights = 1.8 miles
6. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit (straight on) onto A5119 & continue toward Mold through 2 sets of lights = 1.5 miles
7. At the roundabout, take the 4th exit (right) onto A541 toward Denbigh/Trefnant = 15.1 miles
8. At Trefnant lights, turn right onto A525 = 0.5 mile
9. At the next right bend, turn left onto B5381 toward Rhyl = 2.1 miles
10. At mini-roundabout, turn left & continue on B5381 over 1 roundabout (straight on) = 2.5 miles
11. Turn left onto B5381 (opposite large estate gateway) = 3.8 miles
12. At crossroads, turn left onto A548 toward Llanrwst = 14.3 miles
13. At Llanrwst, follow the one-way system left via Watling St, continuing along A548 = 0.2 mile
14. At ‘T’ junction, turn left onto A470 toward Betws y Coed = 3.9 miles POLICE SPEED CHECK AREA IN 30mph
15. At junction, turn right onto A5 (over bridge) & into Betws y Coed = 0.5 mile
16. Turn right onto Old Church Rd = 0.3 mile
Destination: The Old Goods Yard, Betws-Y-Coed, Conwy LL24 0AL - arriving approx 11:35am
The car park will be on the left, just passed the model railway/shop & oppostite the church.
The return journey can be made simple by traveling back along the A470, following the Conwy River beyond Llanrwst to Conway where the A55 can be picked up for a more direct route home..........of course once at Conway there's always the option of a minor detour, heading first through the A55 Conway tunnel before turning back & heading for home - there's even a handy fly-over just at the other side of the tunnel for a switch back
It does seem a shame to leave that one out as you'd be entering the A55 at Conway within a stones throw of it's location
Please also be aware that North Wales Police actively monitor the 50mph limit through the A55 Colwyn Bay area - everywhere else is okay as long as you don't go too mad.
