child seat recommendation for an nc / mk3

Hi,

I have a mk3, and want to transport a 4 yr old, can anyone recommend a seat that works well with it. I have tried a Graco junior maxi seat, but the base was too wide for the mx5 seat, so it doesn’t sit level.

I see the passenger seat has isofix, so I guess there must be a chair that will fit.

Take a trip to your local mothercare they will let you try them out and fit it for you

Not a bad plan!

We got both ours from there one for the other half’s bmw and mine for the eunos and my pajero mines a mothercare sport it goes up to 4 yrs and fits perfectly in the eunos

Spent over an hour at Mothercare this morning trying various child seats in our MK 3 from their range without success. The car has ISOFIX but this is pretty useless for seats suitable for older kids as many isofix seats require a top tether attached to the chassis behind the seat, this isn’t possible in the MK3 and is pointed out in the cars owners manual as a no no. This just leaves the option of a forward facing seat anchored by the seat belts, many of the seat manufacturers don’t list the MK 3 so the particular Mothercare I was in therefore deemed them not suitable for the car, and to be fair none were a good fit, placing the child too near the dashboard. The only seat I can find that looks as though it might be suitable, at least up to the age of 4, is a Britax First Class Plus which is listed on the Britax site as being suitable for the MK 3, all I’ve got to do now is find a retailer close that has one to try. If anybody’s interested I’ll report back on how I get on. In the meantime if anybody else has experience of child seats in a MK 3 I’d be interested to hear too.

This is probably a long shot but other than this old post I can’t find any information on child seats for my 2012 3.5 NC. My life boy is now too big for his rear facing isofix seat that fit my 5 so I am now having to purchase another one. Just wondered where I can find out what will fit before I go try loads at mothercare or somewhere else.

Thanks in advance.

Purchased the Britax First Class Plus from Halfords 8 months ago, fits comfortably forward facing in our NC 3.5. It’s a good quality seat, looks and feels better quality than the much more expensive one that my daughter bought for her Focus. I don’t suppose you’re anywhere near Freeport Braintree but if staff at other Halfords are as well trained in seat fitting as the girl there then I recommend them wholeheartedly. I bought the seat protector too for it to sit on so it doesn’t mark the leather. Hope this helps.

I managed to get a seat from mothercare, that had a narrow base and fitten the MK3 seat really well., i Beleive it is a Britax roma. I liked the seat as the hear rest has large wings and would limit sideways movement in an accident.

Thanks for that. It seems britax is the brand to go for with our seat shapes.

Thanks again from the stay at home dad.

I have a mothercare sport in my eunos fits perfectly and doesn’t move at all even though it’s not an iso fix pic below
