Chirping/Squeek as engine gets up to temperature

  1. My model of MX-5 is: NB MX-5 MK2.5 1.8
  2. I’m based near: London
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Engine

After driving the car for a few hours, the engine develops a chirp/squeek. No squeeks when engine is cold.
All the accessory belts are new.
Grateful for any help on this.
I’ve posted a video of the chirping/squeek, link below:

I didn’t hear the noise after that fan on the right had stopped.

I thought the same. The noise is definitely not coming from the fan itself. But I wonder if the noise is a result of the fan cooling something off?

Different car, Mk3, mine had a squeak as it came to idle, ok with a little throttle, couldn’t hear it. I narrowed it down to the tensioner pulley, the spring loaded part had the squeak. I suppose I could have sprayed a little lube in that part but I replaced it along with the idler pulley, no more squeak.
As for yours well it’s hard to tell these weird squeaks and when the start happening or don’t if you know what I mean.
Also see you have newish auxiliary belt(s), was it present before these were fitted?

The chirping seems to disappear when the car is on the move.
Yes, I’m sure the noises existed before the belts were replaced.
Definitely know what you mean, tricky to pinpoint exactly what is. I could try and lubricate the pulleys.

Try using a rubber tube as a stethoscope in order to pinpoint the source of the noise

Someone on here fairly recently had a new squeak after replacing belts.
He found he had reassembled some washers in the wrong order/ on the wrong side, so the pulley became misaligned

I’m certain the noise existed before the belts were replaced. But I will try to pinpoint with the stethoscope idea.
