Big money for a good set, my set went last year which were like new and only used for shows for silly money, i would keep an eye on the bay of E as they do come up on there from time to time.

Yea I’ve been finding that out of late.Ive seen figures of between £560 to £2000 banded about. I did ask the guy who’s respraying my car at the moment about them.He had a mate who was selling a set,but they needed a refurb and would probably have been very expensive by the end of the work. I also contacted a local guy to me who makes wheels from scratch as well as refurb work, and mentioned my possible budget of around £600. I asked if he did refurbs ? I was pretty annoyed that he completely ignored me until I emailed him to ask for a reply. His response to my second email was ,when I saw your budget I didn’t think you were worth replying to . I thought this was an incredibly arrogant answer to my enquiry . I’m not a wheel kicker or test pilot. My initial budget could in time have stretched further. But the guy felt I was below him somehow. I think even if I picked up a good gig which allowed me to go wild with my budget,I would not  give this guy my business and he works 5 mins from me.

Moss sell brand new wire wheels for the MX5; £1300 a set.

The risk about used Japanese sets is that they may be little more than scrap, unless you spend a fair bit of cash getting them rebuilt by a specialist.

Oh boy I wish I could afford a set of those. My newly sprayed Harvard would look amazing. Ah well I guess I can wait until I have the cash.
