My old tube of Solvol Autosol is done and I have a back box that needs a good clean up.
Do I replace the Solvol or would you recommend something more modern or different?

I have used this Mother’s Mag & Aluminium Metal Polish 10oz for most metals COMPLETE KIT : Amazon.co.uk: Automotive on an aluminium bodied Caterham and the spun alloy wheel rims that the SLR had. I used ordinary flour on the polishing cloth to try and ‘kill’ the dreaded black residue which helped to make the polishing cloth last a little longer than a minute!!
Top and bottom is I now use Autosol for any, admittedly, meagre metal polishing on the 5.
So the answer to your question is NO.
See you in September!!!
I’ve tried various metal polishes over the years but keep coming back to Autosol. Still brings up the NC tailpipes a treat
Fine wire wool pads are more than adequate rather than blowing your cash on Solvol…
The finer the better for that pesky little super mirror finish !
