Cigarette Lighter Socket - How Do I Remove it?

I want to remove the stock Cigarette Lighter socket from my MK2.5 but can’t work out how it comes out.

There’s the metal centre and a plastic ring surround, that sits in the centre console but I can’t see any lugs or any way to remove it.

Any advice would be great

Hi Fraz

Just needs to be turned until the lugs line up with slots and then pulled.

Here is a fuller description of the process.

There will be a few used units on ebay to look at for details.
