My brother has one; 08 plate, 60k miles on it. He is getting intermittant vibration from the steering at motorways speeds (ie. it doesn’t always happen) and increased kick-back when driving over things like cats eyes. He has had the wheels recently rebalanced, and the front brakes/discs have been renewed. He’s been told he needs a new steering rack. Anyone concur? As far as I can figure out, these C4s have electro-hydraulic power steering.
will have a word with my citroen man on tuesday and will report back if no one comes up with any ideas.
Just playing about on the net I googled Citroen C4 Picasso Steering fault which took me to the C4 owners club site. Then in search the site I put steering fault which led me to a few pages that mention similar problems to yours. There is mention that the tyres are difficult to balance, tyre choice is important, something about adjusting the hydraulic pump and lastly mention of a similar problem discussed on the German C4 owners site which I didn’t go into.Might be of help ?
Those same forums told my brother he needed a new engine, instead of a new injector recently… Wheel imbalance will be a constant whenever you drive at, say 70mph, not just sometimes; he feels a definite pulsating feeling as well.
Don’t speak German, and that thread wasn’t polite enough to link to the thread in question.
