Cleaning rubber seals

Hi ,

I have a PRHT MX5 2013 - The roof seals do not leak however one of them in parts has turned a shade of off white ( no its not polish / car wax )

Does anybody know the best product to get rid of the white staining ?

Thanks,

Adam.

Baby oil works and keeps them soft

Or Vaseline, I keep a tub in the garage…

Thank you both but do these products clean aswell as moisturise ?

I wipe it down and then I use Gummi Pfledge it’s water based so doesn’t tend attract the dust like grease based products can.

For cleaning Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner followed by

Auto Glym Vinyl & Rubber Care, the one with the yellow label. Does the job perfectly.

What Ian said.

I use Gummi Pfledge

Lasts well too

+1 for Gummi Pflege - top product!

Baby oil and Vaseline are both mineral oil based so may rot rubber. Armor All is silicone trim spray, dead easy to apply with a damp cloth, and great for car trim and plastics like garden furniture

“303 Aerospace Protectant” is great stuff! not cheap but long lasting.

I had my hood replaced recently on my 18 year old MK1. The guy fitting it commented that the rubber seals looked like new
