Clutch/Gearbox Issues

Noise when releasing clutch and pulling away, and after changing up to 2nd. Gradually getting worse. Doesn’t seem to affect performance but definitely not right.

In general the Gearbox isn’t great, sometimes hard to engage 1st, change to 2nd needs care, change to 3rd sometimes grinds.

Is any/all of this normal? Had the car since April and very much enjoyed top down over the Summer but would like to get this sorted.

You don’t mention how many miles on the car.

Furthermore, the 6 speed gearbox is notorious for sticky gear change 1st to 2nd.

An oil change for ford syntrans may relieve this a bit.

How many miles do you have and when was the fluid last changed on transmission? 2.0s do have some issues but changing fluids can help if milage is high.

What sort of noise does it making when releasing clutch? Is it a clunk, a whirring? Give us your best impression :grin:
