Cobra Exhaust fitting

 Hi All

Got myself  a Cobra back box for my MK3, thought I could fit it myself but can not get the 2 bolts to move joining to the main pipe, so I thought just take it to the local Exhaust place, tried a few none of them will touch it… any body had the same problem in the Newmarket Suffolk area, can anybody recomend someone, not in a hurry but would like it by the time the sun come out again if it does.

Cheers

Steve

Have you tried soaking the bolts with WD40 for a few minutes before undoing them. I normally find that sorts it. Also, the longer the handle on your ratchet, the more leverage you’ll be able to get. You can also get more leverage by looping a closed end spanner over the handle.

Hope you get it squared mate

Mine were bad, but my battery rattle gun shifted them eventually, winding backward and forward. By the time the nuts came off they were too hot to handle

I had my second hand custom exhaust lengthened and fitted (It was from an early Mk1) at St Peters garage in Ely. I got the feeling he was a car enthusiast rather than somebody doing a job and his rates were the same as other independent garages.

Im not sure if he’s open Saturdays, but you could book it in and spend a couple of hours round Ely

 Ok

1 nut loose 1 to go, buts its round so going for the chesel the nut until there is nothing left and it falls off, its going to be a long night, but getting  a good look at the bottom of my car during rest breaks…
