Cooling fan test using diagnostic tool

Hi all, hopefully a quick question with a quick answer! I was playing with the mk1/2 diagnostic tool and one of the tests in it was to activate the cooling fan. My mk1 has two cooling fans (I guess this is normal) when I select the test mode only the right hand fan operates, was just wondering if anyone had come across this or do I have a duff fan! Thanks.

Hi, left hand fan is for the air conditioning, just turn on to test if it is working.

Thanks dave, yes you’re right, I completely forgot about air conditioning as I have never even tried using it. Had the car 5 years and the previous owner said it lost its gas and as it has the old type of gas (which I’m pretty sure you cant get these days) I never bothered with it. Thanks again.
