According to the Mazda Main Dealer the Copper Red (which I like) is a colour that divides opinions very strongly.
I would have thought that it was a universally liked colour, but that’s because I like it … he said that he has never seen a more divided opinion on a colour since the Yellows and Racing Bronzes of old.
He gets people who refuse to even consider a Copper Red car … even if everything else is perfect with it.
So, to see whather he is right - a little poll … inconclusive, I grant you, but interesting all the same.
There’s potential (as there was with Vin Rouge in the wrong light) for mention of the ‘b-word’ I suppose, but I like it. Probably wouldn’t choose it if I was buying new but it’s not silver is it?
As mine is Copper Red, I couldn’t have voted any other way … dare I say it but I am not a fan of bright “red” cars as such but could not resist a shade of red … although there are some cars that suit red better than others
I couldn’t agree more. To own a bright red sports car you have to be under twenty-two or going through your second childhood!! When I was looking for my car it was any colour except red or whire.
I must say Copper Red is something else and I would certainly have one if someone wants to come up with the cash.
I think it’s the only brightish metallic colour currently available.
Stormy blue is so dark it is nearly black, Metropolitan Grey is hardly a colour, neither is Aluminium. The new 20th Anniversary colour is nice and bright though in blue. The car is just a bit basic in spec.
If I were to change now I would easily choose Copper Red, I would just miss my tan leather interior as the black interior only looks appropriate in my eyes on the yellow cars.
Personally I prefer Copper Red to True Red - True Red looks almost Orange to me. Out of all the Reds that Mazda did, Velocity Red is the nicest, I really like the mica paints with the metallic fleck in them, but then I am biased as I have a MK3 LE in Velocity Red! I also liked the Red on the MK2 Sport.
For some reason in a lot of photographs it does, you’re right, but in reality once given a nice dose of Autoglym, it is really very close to the red of Ferraris… having been parked next to one the other day.
