Corbeau LE Seat Fitting

Hello!

I have purchased Corbeau LE’s to fit to my Rocketeer build.

Imgur

So far as I can tell, my choices for fitting these are the Skid Nation side mounts…

or SPS motorsport adapters for mx5 seat rails

Obviously one is side mount and one is bottom mount (and im 6ft 2), so the side mounts are probably preferred, although when I look at the seats themselves, there is only 2 holes in the sides, one is quite a bit higher than the other.

Has anyone on here got experience of fitting these?

Many thanks,

Andrew

I may or may not be stalking you on your conversion  Look what I picked up last week, a pair of Elise 111s seats

I’m 6’2.5" so near identical to you, my last mk1 had the seats floor mounted and that was by far the best driving position. The skidnation seats definitely appeal more to me as they will be much lower and mention the fact that you can still use the NBFL seat belt receivers which I have. Your NA has the receivers in the tunnel but they will come up too high if you mount the seat low and the buckle will be on your lap instead of down the side of the seat.

Are you sure they will fit the Corbeau LE seats? they mention the LE Driver which is a different seat

There’s also the DCBE rail mounted ones, I messaged them and for me the good news is that their brackets keep the seatbelt receiver. Plus the one piece side design looks a lot stronger than a two piece side like the sps ones. These are the only ones I’ve seen with braces at the rear to stop side to side movement.

Thanks for all your rplies Carl!

I’ve had what can only be called, a mare.

The LE’s don’t fit the Skid Nation bucket seats as was confirmed by them yesterday.

So I think, SPS Motorsports might be the only option? But these mount on OEM Mx5 rails so won’t be very low.

I suppose I could fabricate something…

I think I am going to order one of the DCBE mounts because if they are too high fitted to sliders, it looks quite easy to adapt them to floormount by just running a couple of metal bars from front to back bolted to the floor mounting points (like the horizontal bars in this picture)

Ive dropped them a message to check fitment for mine. Thanks Carl

Carl - I have just spoken to them and they are happy to create a custom floor mounted version to my specs. They’re very helpful chaps!

If we are simialr dimensions, I ca nlet you know what they say.

That sounds like a great option if they will make them to your spec! Just be aware that if you want to move the Elise seat to give you more legroom, the mountings are not in line with the holes in the floor on the MX5. look at this picture you can see the rear mounts on the “wings” on the left are a few inches back from the floor mounting bolts on the MX5 (the shiny ones)

So if you were to have something made up like the skidnation ones, you can see the rear mounting holes (on the left) are more or less straight above where they bolt to the floor. Whereas they need to be a few inches further back
